However, as mentioned, this versatility comes at the slight cost of a synth that isn't quite as immediate to get characterful and excellent sounds as some others I have used. The onboard FX of the Summit are excellent, especially the reverb, and the ability to modulate them really adds to the level of complexity you can get. The front panel is laid out extremely well, and the additions from the Peak like FM on the front panel, and the dual filter mode are genius. The fact that along with the traditional waveforms you get factory and custom wavetables makes this able to get into territory the Polybrute can't even dream of. It's equally comfortable getting into Prophet 5 and CS80 territory as it is sounding like a DX7 or even Xfer Serum. Summit: overall, in the time I've owned the Summit, I've really come to feel that its biggest strength is also it's main 'weakness': it's a true chameleon. I hope that Polybrute owners will comment! So with that, my thoughts are as follows: I'm in the position right now where I am seriously considering selling my Summit for a Polybrute, so I wanted to see what people's thoughts were on how these two beasts of synths stack up against one another.Īs a disclaimer, I've obviously spent much more time with the Summit, meaning there are likely pros and cons with the Polybrute that I'm not listing. I've been lucky enough to own the Summit for 1.5 years, and I've played the Polybrute for about 3 hours (but barely scratched the surface I know), but I was blown away by it.

I want to make this post sort of open forum for discussing these two excellent instruments.
